Share Temporary Helpdesk Credentials Without Leaving Them in Chat History
Send reset passwords and one-off access details securely. The data is encrypted in the browser and consumed upon viewing.
The Retained-Message Problem
Support tickets, Slack channels, and email threads often retain credential messages much longer than intended. If an employee's chat history is ever compromised, any passwords sent in plain text become accessible to attackers.
A Safer One-Time Handoff
Hush provides a safer handoff. When the recipient clicks "Reveal Secret", normal secrets are returned exactly once and permanently erased from the live database in the same transaction.
3-Step Secure Handoff Workflow
1. Create a scoped credential
Whenever possible, generate a temporary or limited-permission credential rather than sharing root access.
2. Send with strict expiry
Use Hush to encrypt the credential and set an appropriate expiry time. Send the link to the employee.
3. Rotate and revoke
Once the employee has authenticated, enforce a password rotation, or revoke the temporary credential after its use.
Know the Limits
- Hush cannot verify the true identity of who opened a link.
- It cannot prevent screenshots or stop a compromised device from recording the screen.
- Hush is a one-time transmission tool; it is not a password manager, identity-verification service, or compliance solution.
